Vision

My vision for MISA is to foster a welcoming and collaborative environment that offers opportunities to develop, discover, and hone skills not only on information technology but on communication and teamwork skills as well. More importantly, I hope the organization can become a place where members can express themselves freely, celebrating each other’s victories and empathizing with their worries.

Platforms

Restructure [Human Resources/Events/Office of the Secretary General]

Although MISA has created numerous member engagement activities in the past ranging from Tambay Week to holiday-related activities, there is still room for creating opportunities for members to become active.

  • Reassessing events in coordination with other clusters' initiatives would help reduce overlapping or redundant activities. This allows the organization and its members to focus on the value-adding events that enhance member appreciation and enjoyment, and promote MISA's advocacy by creating a welcoming environment for skill development.

  • Create a member profiling system so that the entire organization can see the involvements of the members. This would aid in creating deployments and effectively aid in helping the organization carry out the events.

  • Conduct individual consultations with the members (active or inactive, core team member or officer) to get to know them more and understand their org experience from their perspective.

  • Conduct Project Director applications before ORSEM as the preparation period for the events is long.

  • Create core team wave applications wherein the interviews would be conducted by the project directors. This way, the project directors will be able to connect with the core team members more in a closer manner.

  • Conduct interest checks before the events to gauge the interests of the participants. This would aid the planning and preparations for the events.

  • Utilize Facebook Messenger as the primary messaging platform and Google Workspace as the productivity management system for communicating with one another and managing event activities. By bringing back the use of Facebook Messenger and introducing Facebook Community chats, the members can easily share their ideas and connect with one another. By utilizing Google Workspace, this would be further utilized with the google calendar for a more centralized organization.

  • Publicize a google calendar subscription that would have the dates of events and be informed of the other initiatives the organization has. A private google calendar subscription can be used for events so that those deployed in them can align themselves with the timeline and manage their time easier.

Market Market [Marketing/eServices/Communications]

While the current marketing initiatives conducted have widened the reach of MISA throughout the years, there is still room for expanding new connections and introducing new industries.

  • HEX: Company Talks and Workshops can be aligned with Networking Night as the current goals of these events is to introduce companies to the undergraduates and get more exposed to the industry.

  • Partner with other organizations and promote the services MISA provides, specifically EServices, in order to widen the exposure and reach of MISA.

  • Continue the newsletter initiative to promote the organization with the current and future initiatives.

  • Utilize MISA’s all of social media accounts in promotional materials to expand the reach of MISA to other people.

  • Conduct the eServices workshops earlier in the school year to match with the programming classes conducted in BS MIS. This can also help the members learn new skills from students that have experienced it themselves.

Buy One Take One [Communications/Office of the Executive Treasurer]

As activities resume onsite, it is difficult to manage all of the organization’s activities. Because of the large number of in-person engagements, it requires more support in coordinating and ensuring the tasks are being completed.

  • In order to manage the initiatives clusters wish to execute, create an additional Associate for Documentation that would handle the photography and videography activities of the organization.

  • With the various initiatives the organization has, there is also a need for an additional Associate for Finance, who would handle the other fundraising initiatives needed in events. Integrate fundraising initiatives with other cluster initiatives such as DISCS Olympics that includes member engagement. The current Associate for Finance would focus more on the merchandise of the organization.

Eli in Reliable

I believe I can get to know the organization more through the members, whether they are part of the Executive Board, BETA, third-level officers, or members.

  • Conduct meetings with the Executive Board weekly, BETA monthly, and Core Teams during pre- and post-event meetings.

  • Arrange BETA presentations with the Project Directors so that everyone can share their ideas on how to prepare for the events.
