Vice President for Communications candidate

Vega, Moira Louise E.

Vision

As an aspiring Vice President for Communications, my aim is to uphold the organization's legacy and take our visual identity to new heights. I want to be able to help drive the visuals of MISA to create more forward, out-of-bound ideas while staying true to its message and mission. I envision the brand becoming a trendsetter – not only in the field of information management and technology, but also at the forefront of meaningful designs. By embracing the philosophy that design is not merely about execution but also about problem-solving, we can elevate our skills and curate experiences that resonate more deeply with our community.

Platforms

MENTEE-MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

  • Implement a mentee-mentorship program between AVPs and third-level officers to strengthen relationships and flatten the hierarchy within the cluster.

  • The program aims to address low officer turnout caused by inadequate training and role clarity.

  • By empowering AVPs through this program, they will lead confidently in their deployments and foster personal and intentional interactions.

  • The flattened hierarchy will eliminate communication gaps and encourage a more cohesive and aligned workflow within different creative core teams.

WEEKLY ALIGNMENT MEETINGS & MONTHLY CONSULTATIONS

  • Weekly meetings will be implemented for monitoring and guidance purposes.

  • Meetings will include both synchronous and asynchronous sessions with AVPs and their assigned creative core teams.

  • The first and third weeks of the month will be synchronous to align with the start and end of the month.

  • The week in between (second week) will be asynchronous to allow creatives to focus on deliverables and provide progress reports.

  • The fourth week will be dedicated to consultations with AVPs and officers to address ongoing deployments.

CLUSTER WORKSHOPS

  • Initiate design-related workshops within the cluster to address hesitancy among aspiring communications officers due to perceived lack of experience.

  • The workshops aim to provide valuable skills and create opportunities for MISA members to explore the field of design.

  • By reducing the intimidation associated with graphic design tools, the workshops will encourage more active participation and engagement within the team.

DATA-DRIVEN DESIGN

  • Shift towards a more data-driven approach within the cluster, particularly in analyzing Meta post analytics

    • Currently, only high-level communications officers have access to this information, but I aim to share it within the creative community

  • Identify trends, preferences, and areas for improvement in promotional strategies

    • Sharing this data is crucial for evaluating performance and engagement, especially during post-event meetings

  • Encourage efficient resource allocation, and maximize audience impact and engagement of deliverables
